BEST PLACES TO RIDE YOUR TRIKE IN THE SOUTH ISLAND!

Just because overseas travel is off-limits, doesn’t mean you can’t have an adventure in your own backyard. Experience all the beauty and wonders that South Island has to offer on your Can-Am Spyder or Ryker. We’ve compiled a list of our top 3 tracks so that you can experience a ride like no other.
BEST PLACES TO RIDE YOUR TRIKE IN THE SOUTH ISLAND!

TAKAKA HILL

The first one on our list is Takaka Hill. It is a mountain pass at an elevation of 791 metres above the sea level, located in the northwest of the South Island. This mountainous track is filled with many twists and turns with a couple of 320 degree hairpins. We recommend riding with caution as the road can get a little narrow. If you need to pull over to stretch your legs, check out Hawkes Lookout Walk. This is an easy 10 minute walk that showcases the South Island in all its glory - breathtaking panoramic views of mountains, valleys and the coast.

Start the Christchurch to Westport route from the eastern shores of the South Island and ride all the way to the rugged terrain of the West-Coast. You'll feel one with nature being surrounded by snow-capped mountains, glacial rivers and country land. Be sure to check out the range of lakeside stopovers to including; Hanmer Springs, Lake Sumner Forest Park and Nelson Lakes National Park. To be properly equipped for the ride, ensure that you bring the LinQ Sport Bag that has 17 L of storage space that is designed to keep the weather out. GLENORCHY TO MILFORD SOUND

Lord of the Rings fan? Then you’re in for a treat! Ride through the magical world of Isengard on your trike starting from Glenorchy to Milford Sound. Following the water, this route is 330 kilometres long and offers many twists, turns, straights and elevation to tackle on your Spyder or Ryker. You will get the chance to see mountains that rise up out of the water, rich rainforests that cling to rock faces and raging waterfalls that crash from hundreds of metres to the sea. One of our most favourite rides is through The Devil’s Staircase located in Queenstown. Make sure to stop at the lookout to take a photo or two!
