Meet the Australian farmer who raises bulls for PBR! Coming from humble beginnings, Jason Dittman has truly worked his way to becoming a winner in every sense of the word. A member of the Professional Bull Rider (PBR) association and an esteemed Australian Bull Contractor, Jason’s time is spent rearing and caring for award-winning bulls from birth. Dittman Bucking Bulls is a family-owned business in the small town of Bloomsbury. They take pride in being one of the top breeders in Australia for PBR, an internationally renowned bull-riding organisation.  “In the sport of bull riding, there are two athletes in every outrider and bull.” writes Kacie Albert within the PBR article "Behind the Chutes - Jason Dittman." Jason began riding when he was young and jokingly admitted that he wasn't particularly good at it. He had no concept his passion for the game would lead him to become a multiple-award-winning bull breeder and contractor in the future.

Determination coupled with hard work really saw the Dittman dream come to life. Reigning in the entire family, Jason was sure to include his wife, Kelly, and children in his bid to achieve his lifelong dream of becoming an award-winning bull rearer. For the Dittman's, life on the outbacks is the breath of fresh air they were yearning for. For Jason,  "Doing what you want, doing what you love, that's what the land is here for," says the man who "lives the land." Nothing beats being away from the city's bustle and living a peaceful existence for him. He adores Bloomsbury, and acknowledges with gratitude the Bloomsbury community who has assisted him in realising his dream of owning Australia's Bucking Bull. Hard work and dedication set the standard for success in both sports and business for the Dittman family. It’s a real family affair over at Australia’s Bucking Bull.

Having started the business with every last cent to his name, Jason, alongside Kerry Bentley, had to make the most of the initial bulls they purchased and trained. In order to cultivate powerful and athletic stock, they had to carefully search the market for the best value, calves with the characteristics that would allow their business to thrive. Jason added, “I spent a lot of money at the start just by buying bulls,” “We thought they were superstars.” However, after years in the industry, it’s fair to say that Australia’s Bucking Bulls have only become better and better. “You look at the bulls that we trained back then to the bulls we train now, it’s a totally different era,” said Jason (watch the episode here).

The bulls are under the command of Kerry Bentley, the assistant coach on the farm - in charge of drills and training. He makes sure that the ‘athletes’ stay in shape. Relying on his mighty and trusted Can-Am Defender, Kerry arrives at the running drills in one Defender and be escorted by another like a true coach! The bulls were being pushed to their limits! The Defender is built to be comfortable and capable, so you can concentrate on your business. To grow Australia's Bucking Bull, that level of training is essential.
